DE PLOEG C

OLLECTION

BRUNS is located in a factory building in Bergeijk designed by Gerrit Rietveld.

The Ploeg collection consists of various objects designed for the new BRUNS interior. BRUNS is located in a factory building in Bergeijk designed by Gerrit Rietveld, originally built for weaving mill De Ploeg in 1957.
The different pieces are connected in one way or another to the architecture in which the furniture is located. Either their color, composition, or construction can be traced back to elements from the design by Gerrit Rietveld. For this collection we designed a sofa, a cabinet, a lighting element, and made multiple designs for tables and chairs.

Some of the designs out of this collection were part of the Rietveld Re-newed Exposition that was launched at the grand opening of De Ploeg. Visitors could see our collection and the work of many other contemporary designers. This contemporary work was compared to pieces designed by Gerrit Rietveld himself to show that designers in the present time still owe a lot of their natural habits, and the way they look at colors, rythms, and composition to designers like Gerrit Rietveld.
